Summary
Under the supervision of the Director Process Improvement, functions as a facilitator for organizational or cross-departmental Rapid Improvement Events (RIEs) through the Lean implementation infrastructure, applying lean principles and tools, and providing improvement coaching across the District. Coordinates planning, RIE, and follow-up activities. Facilitates improvement efforts. Plans, executes and manages Lean Six Sigma projects from start to finish with supervision. Facilitates improvement efforts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides all levels of management with coaching on how to effectively develop and deploy leadership standard work
  • Provides front line staff and managers with the necessary coaching to become effective daily problem solvers
  • Supports leadership and frontline staff with implementation of improvement activities and problem solving skills
  • Assists others in using Lean tools and methodologies
  • Facilitates improvement events ensuring standard work is adhered to for adequate planning, preparation and follow-through, as well as for tools and processes used in these events.
  • Facilitates groups (asks clarifying questions, ensures inclusion of all participants, ability to understand the dynamics of the room, flexibility to achieve objectives, summarizing).
  • Monitors and measures the benefits from improvement activities
  • Provides data management support (developing appropriate metrics, tracking data, interpreting data, presenting data).
  • Provides basic project management/activity tracking support for all strategic lean activities as appropriate
  • Creates, develops, reviews and improves Standard Work
  • Assists leaders with Daily Management Systems
  • Completes administrative duties associated with improvement activities
  • Conducts baseline assessments, observations, and supports standard work implementation
  • Assist with education and training
  • Assists with onboarding, orientation, training and competency assurance of coordinators and other facilitators as assigned
  • Assists with teaching Lean modules within or outside of RIEs to levels including novice to experienced learners.
  • Demonstrates System Values in performance and behavior.
  • Complies with System policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.

Minimum Education/Experience
Associate's Degree or equivalent education and experience or 1-2 years relevant experience

Licenses/Certifications
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt within six months of hire
