Description

Mental Health Coaches

Full Time (Fixed-Term Contract – June 2027)

Open to applicants - Australia wide

Beyond Blue’s vision is that all people in Australia achieve their best possible mental health.

  • Industry leader, purposeful work

  • Be part of influencing and shaping mental health and system reform

  • Hybrid working environment

Company

For more than 25 years, people in Australia have placed their trust in Beyond Blue as a reliable source of mental health information, support and hope.

We are one of Australia’s most well-known, trusted, and visited mental health organisations. We never take this for granted. With that comes a deep responsibility to listen, to understand people’s needs and aspirations, and to ensure they are at the heart of everything we do.

About the role

As an experienced Mental Health Coach working in New Access, you will be delivering coaching and early‑intervention support across our Before Blue Services, helping employees and small business owners access the right support early.

Using Beyond Blue’s evidence‑based NewAccess model of care, you’ll provide assessment, triage and structured low‑intensity CBT coaching to support people experiencing mild to moderate anxiety or depression. You’ll work with individuals to build practical skills, improve coping strategies and support recovery — while ensuring care is safe, ethical and aligned to service guidelines.

This is a hands‑on role where strong clinical judgement, thoughtful risk escalation and high‑quality client engagement are critical. You’ll work closely with your manager and peers through regular supervision, contributing to a high‑performing, values‑driven service focused on impact and client experience.

About you

You’re a confident and experienced Mental Health Coach who is passionate about early intervention and accessible mental health support. You bring strong assessment skills, a calm and empathetic approach, and the ability to build trust quickly with people from diverse backgrounds.

You’ll also bring:

  • A Certificate of Training in Low Intensity CBT from CBT Institute and/or a Certificate of Coaching Competence from Flinders University

  • At least 2 years working as a Coach delivering New Access Community, New Access for Small Business or New Access for Workplaces

  • Strong skills in assessment, triage, brief intervention and guided self-help

  • Sound judgement around risk identification, escalation and referral

  • A commitment to ethical practice, reflective learning and clinical supervision

  • Confidence working with digital systems and maintaining accurate client records

  • A collaborative, community centered mindset aligned to Beyond Blue’s values

If you’re motivated by meaningful work, value high‑quality care, and want to make a real difference by supporting people earlier — we’d love to hear from you.
