Description

As ProCare’s Clinical Education and Training Specialist, you are the engine behind our “Perfect Visit” standard. You are not just teaching — you are transforming. You will conduct real-time site visits, monitor clinical competency, and ensure every member of our interdisciplinary team can execute admissions, visits, and documentation at the highest level of care delivery. You will be a strategist, a coach, and an operational disruptor — driving education that is not only effective but unforgettable.


You are the designated educator for the entire ProCare family — including ProCare Hospice, ProCare Continuum, and CareOusel Pediatrics. This role ensures compliance, raises the bar on excellence, and shapes the next generation of hospice and palliative professionals.


Other services may include, but are not limited to, process, performance and service-delivery consultation and contributions to the organization through ad-hoc or permanently established councils, committees, and workgroups. This position should be comfortable interfacing with all levels of the health care spectrum for education on better patient outcomes while utilizing the hospice benefit.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:


Essential Job Functions:

Education Leadership & Execution

  1. Own and execute ProCare’s enterprise-wide training plan across all service lines.
  2. Develop and lead onboarding, annual competencies, and continuing education for all staff.
  3. Conduct clinical site visits (field and facility) to assess real-time execution of clinical practices
  4. Serve as the lead trainer for clinical staff on:
  5. Admission processes
  6. Clinical visit structure
  7. Documentation standards
  8. Our defined “Perfect Visit” model
  9. Deliver engaging, high-impact education aligned with adult learning theory and evidence-based best practices

Clinical Oversight & Staff Development

  1. Observe staff in the field and provide 1:1 feedback, coaching, and remediation plans
  2. Conduct follow-up site visits to assess post-education performance
  3. Function as a clinical resource for Clinical Coordinators and field staff
  4. Collaborate with Clinical Leadership to ensure alignment on protocols and care expectations

Regulatory Compliance & Tracking

  1. Ensure compliance with federal and state hospice education standards
  2. Provide and document the required 12 hours of annual CNA education in accordance with hospice Conditions of Participation
  3. Maintain current and complete training records for all employees
  4. Partner with Human Resources and LMS administrators to verify training is completed, recorded, and auditable

Content Development & Program Innovation

  1. Develop training content, job aids, and workflow tools customized for ProCare Hospice, ProCare Continuum, and CareOusel Pediatrics
  2. Coordinate and execute organization-wide Skills Fairs, including sourcing and preparing internal trainers
  3. Stay current with hospice regulatory changes and integrate into real-time training
  4. Collaborates with Quality Assurance Nurse and IT to provide appropriate EMR Education
  5. Coordinates training with the IT Program Coordinator for self-learning modules and hand on practice modules
  6. Collaborates with the Director of Nursing and the Director of Quality, Compliance and Education, to provide staff with changes in policies and procedures regarding practice issues
  7. Completes all required documentation in a timely and accurate manner
  8. Protects privacy and maintain confidentiality of all company procedures and information about employees, participants, and families
  9. Follows ProCare Hospice policies and procedures and participate in any required Quality Improvement activities, staff training and meeting
  10. Fosters and maintains an effective working relationship between peers, professional staff, and other personnel within the community
  11. Has a solid understanding of hospice regulations, levels of care and admission criteria
  12. Remains up to date on both Federal and state regulations as they change and promptly educates referral sources to changes in the regulations when necessary
  13. Keeps up to date on state regulations as they pertain to the hospice community and the relationships between assisted living facilities, group homes, skilled nursing facilities and home care 
  14. Participates in Performance Improvement projects, regulatory ongoing corrective plans, updates of all required changes
  15. Other duties as assigned (i.e., complete an admission visit, need to complete an urgent nurse visit, etc.)

  1. Adheres to patient rights, abuse reporting and confidentiality policies
  2. Attends scheduled staff meetings and in-service training
  3. Adheres to the departmental dress code requirements related to personal grooming and attire
  4. Demonstrates reliability by making every attempt to report to work on time, providing proper notification for absence or tardiness and follows policies related to time off requests
  5. Assumes responsibility for on-going personal development and continuing education
  6. Seeks guidance from higher authority as needed
  7. Other duties as assigned

Physical/Safety Requirements:

  1. Must have the strength and endurance required for standing and walking for lengthy periods of time (up to 80% of work time)
  2. Must be able to lift 5 to 25 lbs. occasionally
  3. Utilizes appropriate basic office equipment
  4. Uses appropriate body mechanics as needed
  5. Must use appropriate durable medical equipment in a safe manner
  6. Must use appropriate body mechanics as needed for personal and safe patient care
  7. Must use appropriate PPE as necessary
  8. Follow the designated plan of action in the event of a fire or other emergency
  9. Must be able to travel throughout territory to homes of prospects and professional businesses
  10. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, work- related stresses, and driving hazards
  11. The individual may be required to drive to meetings with clients or health care professionals, patients’ homes, and/or facilities
  12. The work environment is Category 1 for potential exposure to blood/body fluids. (Requires the performance of procedures or other tasks in the work routine that involve an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids or tissues, or the potential for spills or splashes of them. Protective measures should be used while engaged in Category 1 tasks with exposure potential.)
  13. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Must possess professional knowledge of nursing theory, practice, and administration
  2. Must be a Registered Nurse currently licensed and registered to practice in the state of Nevada
  3. Must possess ability to communicate verbally to potential patients and referral sources
  4. Must possess advanced analytical and Interpersonal skills
  5. Must have reliable transportation, a valid Nevada driver’s license and current auto insurance
  6. Associate’s degree in nursing required (Baccalaureate degree preferred)
  7. CPR/BLS certification is required 
  8. Three to five years in a certified home health agency and/or hospice experience preferred
  9. Must be flexible in meeting evening and weekend requirements
  10. Successful completion of a background check pursuant to NRS 449.188 and NRS 179A.100 along with a pre-employment drug screen and physical, TB testing, previous employment and reference checking, and an MVR (may include verification of education) 
  11. Must be able to handle frequent interruptions
  12. Must be able to cope with emotionally charged situations encompassing patients, families, and other caregivers
  13. Must be able to work independently, effectively managing time for maximum results
