Position Summary
The Clinical Support Representative serves in a support role to providers and medical staff assuring patient clinical needs are addressed in a timely manner. This position is responsible for supporting patients with referrals, provider communication, prior authorizations, and medication refill requests, appointment scheduling and other needs that require clinical actions. The position works in a support services environment and communicates with patients over the telephone.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Monitors and directs incoming calls in a timely manner.
- Maintains appropriate communication and good interpersonal skills with supervisors, staff, providers and patients to ensure coordinated efforts and provisions of high-quality service.
- Works closely with providers to receive guidance and instruction for patient care follow-up.
- Attend required meetings and participate in committees as requested.
- Completes appropriate patient documentation in electronic medical records.
- Follows all policies and procedures and appropriately report concerns and patient issues as well as procedures for personal requests.
- Alerts for ways to improve customer service, improve patient flow
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 6 months experience in a customer service role
- Strong communication skills including written and verbal communication
Preferred Qualifications
- English/Spanish fluency
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer programs and data entry, experience with Electronic Health Records highly preferred
- Previous experience using a multi-line phone system
- Ability to manage time effectively
