Job Description for the CDS Operational, Process Improvement and Development Manager
This role will report directly to the Vice President of Copart Dealer Services and will provide support, direction, and function as a single POC. This role will also work closely with the corporate operations Vice Presidents, Technology Department, Product Department, Business Product Development Team, and Field Operations Management to ensure process improvement from an operational, technology, product and financial CDS strength.
The CDS Operations and Process Improvement and Development Manager will be immersed in all operational processes regarding CDS and the GO App, and function as the liaison between field operations, Sales, and corporate leadership. This position will help drive process execution, innovations, company goals, and results to lead both internal and external customers to successful and profitable outcomes surrounding CDS operations and overall processes.
Essential Duties:
- Create and structure CDS operational process to drive process improvement and department growth.
- Review and advise on operational company updated that may impact CDS.
- When working with operational management you must maintain a strong reputation within operations and work to improve the CDS Department’s reputation with all of operations.
- Assist with the growth and operational requirements for the Specialty side of the CDS business.
- Expand and improve internal CDS title and dispatch/operational team at the corporate level.
- Oversight and responsibility into corporate operations including collaborations with Technology and the Business Process Development team to help drive innovation for CDS field Operations and corporate Account Representatives, Field Account Managers and GO App Inventory Specialists.
- Works with Sales and Operations to ensure customer requirements are delivered and within the agreed to metric(s) surrounding CDS.
- Will partner with Sales to help grow, support, and scale the CDS line of business.
- Proven understanding of the Copart business, field operations, and overall industry
- Responsibility and understanding of the ins and outs of corporate operations and the integral functions it provides to the organization by driving excellence in CDS execution.
- Helps to support the field on all CDS initiatives by assisting and monitoring new products and measuring the ROI of said product(s)
- Inspires and leads by using innovative, high level, servant leadership style.
- Creates a highly engaged team environment that drives execution, innovation, and productivity in CDS field Operations across the company as well as with the inside and outside CDS sales individuals and teams.
- Copart/CDS brand ambassador for the company's mission, vision, values, and culture
- Help to identify the needs and demands of the business by becoming a subject matter expert (SME) in all CDS process areas.
- Understand different technologies and trends and deliver innovative and optimal solutions that will support the execution of business strategies for CDS.
- Ability to communicate to all levels of leadership and staff throughout the organization with tact and professionalism.
- Special projects as assigned by the Vice President of CDS and/or a member of Senior Leadership
- Oversee the Dealer Appreciation events and plan them in cooperation with the Marketing Department and with PurpleWave.
Requirements:
- 2 years of Copart operational experience in a large Copart facility
- Previous experience managing special projects for Copart.
- Proven ability to adapt to different working environments.
- Ability to achieve results by motivating others into action.
- Must have a good sense of when and who to delegate tasks and or projects to.
- Proven record on supporting change initiatives and ensuring the team can easily adapt to and manage change effectively and with positivity.
- Experience in core leadership competencies including but not limited to, establishing collaborative working relationships, project management, planning, building accountability and trust, process improvement, contingency planning, attention to detail and strong presentation skills.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to adjust your tone/communication style according to your audience.
- Ability to administer business plans and budgets.
- Deep and thorough knowledge of Copart systems, processes, and procedure
- High-level of demonstrated customer relationship skills and related successes.
- Ability to foster relationships.
- Strong critical thinking skills using logic and help identify alternative solutions to complex problems.
- Strong decision-making skills -- will consider benefits and risks to potential decisions to choose the most appropriate course of action.

- Travel is required and extensive. This includes but is not limited to traveling to help support Catastrophic events.
- The position is in Dallas, TX and will require relocation for candidates outside the DFW area.
