The Surgical Clinical Reviewerβs chief responsibility is to collect and submit reliable data to the ACS NSQIP. This is accomplished through high-quality data compilation, documentation and entry into the ACS NSQIP database of all eligible surgeries for the hospital. The SCR works closely with the members of the Department of Surgery and the Emergency General Services Program to identify opportunities for clinical quality improvement and other special projects as may be identified. Lead and coordinate quality improvement initiatives
Data Collection and Reporting; Identify streamlining and process improvement opportunities in the data collection process
Analyze trends and develop action plans to improve patient care
Collaborate with nursing leaders, department heads, Physicians and clinical teams
Educate and mentor staff on best practices and performance metrics
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia (or compact state)
BSN Required
Minimum 4 years of clinical nursing experience
Preferred experience in Emergency or Surgical Services
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
A passion for quality improvement and patient safety
Project Management skills/Knowledge
