JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Process Improvement Specialist works for the Small Molecule North American division, supporting the organization’s drive for continuous improvement, data-driven change management, and cross-functional collaboration. This role develops and coaches improvement projects and initiatives across the company to enhance processes and achieve operational excellence through measurable results. Working with teams such as Chemical Manufacturing Operations, Engineering, Quality, and R&D, this role supports the foundation of the Operational Excellence program and helps advance improvements across the organization.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with Department Leaders, Managers, and Supervisors to deliver Operational Excellence (OE) initiatives across the site.
  • Lead and facilitate Operational Excellence activities and events, including Kaizens, Root Cause Analysis sessions, and continuous improvement workshops.
  • Coach and guide Yellow Belt projects, driving validated and sustained financial results (approximately 20–30 projects per year).
  • Build business cases supported by financial models and ROI analysis to support improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and enhance dashboards and operational KPIs to track performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Support the development and improvement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical documentation.
  • Own and maintain systems used for data extraction, reporting, and analysis.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration by bridging overlapping goals across departments.
  • Support change management efforts through both technical solutions and stakeholder engagement.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience leading results-driven projects (PMP certification preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in Lean Six Sigma environments; Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt certification preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in TPM or Lean systems leadership (Lean laboratory experience desired)


COMPETENCIES/SKILLS

  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools.
  • Training and facilitation experience.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring capabilities.
  • Knowledge of change management principles and practices.
  • Understanding manufacturing, warehouse, and laboratory processes and systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Maximo, MP2).
  • Ability to support data-based decision-making using methodologies such as DMAIC and PDCA.

 

CERTIFICATION/LICENSES

  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt certification required; Black Belt preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Certified Continuous Improvement Professional (CCIP) or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Change Management certification (such as Prosci or similar) preferred.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

This role may involve work in laboratory or manufacturing environments with potential exposure to chemicals or other regulated substances. As a condition of employment, incumbents may be required to participate in employer-provided medical surveillance programs in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and company policy.
