Role Overview: The Senior Healthcare Consultant serves as a strategic advisor and task lead for large-scale federal healthcare transformation initiatives. This role requires a blend of management consulting rigor and specialized domain knowledge to lead complex workstreams, manage senior-level client relationships, and drive the enterprise-wide replication of high-priority health solutions. You will be responsible for navigating federal acquisition processes, managing quality standards to ensure "Exceptional" performance ratings, and delivering results within an agile, mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead programmatic support for diverse healthcare portfolios, utilizing industry-standard and Agile methodologies to drive project lifecycles from discovery to enterprise-scale implementation.
Conduct high-level quantitative and qualitative data analysis to develop comprehensive whitepapers, briefing decks, and formal responses to government inquiries.
Manage relationships between government program offices, external organizations, and private-sector partners; lead the negotiation and tracking of formal collaboration agreements (e.g., MOUs, CRADAs).
Design and implement training curricula and workshops to empower frontline staff and foster continuous improvement.
Advise clients on project coordination, market research, and procurement facilitation; oversee Quality Management Plans (QMP) and RAID logs to mitigate operational risks.
Develop and manage project tracking and reporting using Smartsheet, Salesforce, Monday.com, and other platforms, providing government leads with real-time visibility into program status
Identify opportunities for cross-portfolio synergy, process improvement, and operational efficiency across VHA IE programs
Required Qualifications:
Experience: 8+ years of management consulting experience, with a significant focus on federal healthcare agencies; direct experience supporting the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) strongly preferred.
Education: Master’s Degree (MBA, MPH, or Ph.D.) in Health Policy, Business, or a related field.
Certifications: PMP required; Agile (ACP) or Prosci Change Management certifications highly preferred.
Tools: Mastery of Salesforce, Smartsheet, Power BI, and Microsoft Teams/SharePoint.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience developing executive-level briefings, reports, and strategic communications products
Experience with data collection, analysis, and visualization for program evaluation and decision support
Clearance & Citizenship
Must be a U.S. citizen
Must be eligible for VA background investigation
Ability to obtain and maintain a government-issued Personal Identity Verification (PIV) badge and VA email account
Work Location
Remote, with periodic on-site support at VA facilities as required. Travel to VA Medical Centers, VISN offices, and event locations may be required (estimated 10–20% travel depending on project assignments). Candidates in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area are preferred.
