Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Healthcare Analyst to support our Accountable Care Organization work (ACO) and its growing network of primary care clinics. This role is pivotal in helping us deliver on our mission to improve patient outcomes, enhance care experiences, and reduce total cost of care. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in healthcare data analysis, medical economics, and value-based care, along with the ability to translate data into actionable strategies for clinical and operational improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Population Health Analysis & Program Performance
- Analyze complex healthcare datasets including claims, EHR data, third-party sources, and application data to identify cost drivers, quality trends, and operational opportunities.
- Conduct advanced analytics to explain sources of variation in clinical and financial performance, including utilization patterns, cost of care, and patient outcomes.
- Support risk stratification, panel management, and quality measure reporting to optimize performance under value-based contracts.
- Partner with clinical leadership to identify opportunities to improve primary care workflows, care coordination, and patient engagement.
- Develop actionable insights that inform interventions for disease management, preventive care, and closing care gaps.
- Support ACO performance on quality and shared savings programs through targeted analytics.
- Evaluate the impact of clinical programs, operational initiatives, and interventions from clinical, financial, and patient experience perspectives.
- Build dashboards and analytic reports to track performance, benchmark against targets, and drive accountability.
- Provide analytic support for strategic decision-making and contract performance management.
Project Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead analytic projects from scoping through delivery, coordinating with clinical, operational, and technology teams.
- Work independently with minimal guidance, prioritizing high-impact work and ensuring clarity across stakeholders.
- Translate business and clinical questions into analytic plans and clear deliverables.
- Present findings and recommendations in clear, compelling ways to clinicians, operations leaders, and executives.
- Act as a trusted thought partner to drive alignment on strategies for improving care delivery and cost performance.
- Influence organizational decision-making through strong storytelling and data-driven insights.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10+ years analyzing healthcare data, with at least 5 years supporting ACO, primary care, or value-based care initiatives.
- Graduate degree in analytics, mathematics, statistics, engineering, data science, public health, or a related field , or relevant experience.
- Strong understanding of healthcare delivery models, ACO structures, population health, and cost/quality levers.
- Experience supporting population health programs in a value-based primary care environment.
- Familiarity with risk adjustment, utilization management, and clinical quality measures (e.g., HEDIS, ACO quality).
- Advanced proficiency in SQL or other programming languages for data extraction,
transformation and analysis.
- Mastery of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for modeling and presentation.
- Experience working with claims data, EHR data, quality measures, and utilization metrics.
- Strong communication and storytelling skills; able to explain complex analytics to non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to influence clinical and operational strategies through data.
- Self-starter with excellent organizational, problem-solving, and prioritization abilities.
- Proven track record driving measurable improvements in cost, quality, or patient outcomes through analytics.
- Familiarity with Power BI (or equivalent BI platforms) for dashboarding and data visualization is a plus.
- Prior experience working with primary care clinics or physician organizations is a plus.
Working Environment
This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, including clinical staff, IT professionals, and executive leadership. The role involves both independent analytical work and collaborative project management, with occasional travel to healthcare facilities for stakeholder meetings and system implementations.
