The Role:


The Director of  Clinical Quality Improvement will direct and facilitate the quality improvement activities of the organization and Infection Prevention in coordination with Administration, the Medical Staff, Department Directors, Disease Management Program Coordinators and Data Quality Review. The Director directs and provides oversight to ensure consistent, comprehensive approach to the data collection process, data analysis and reporting. The Director sets the department goals based on the hospital’s strategic goals. Additionally, he/she/they provide education on Continuous Quality Improvement methodology. The Director also assures compliance with regulatory agencies including but not limited to the Joint Commission, CMS and PA Department of Health. He, she/ they ensures mandatory data reporting requirements and coordinates internal and external quality improvement activities and outcomes. Director ensures effective performance for the Infection Prevention Coordinator, Quality Manager, Quality Improvement Coordinator, and AA/Data Entry Staff member.


Requirements

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Master’s degree preferred with 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role in a Quality Department.

Bachelor's Degree with 10 years’ experience working in a Quality Department and 5 years’ experience working in a managerial capacity.

  

CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS (MAY VARY BASED ON DEPARTMENT NEEDS).

CPHQ Certification

 

REQUIRED SKILLS

Goal setting for the department in concordance with the hospital’s strategic plan.

Knowledgeable of regulatory requirements including but not exclusive to the Joint Commission, CMS, PA Department of Health.

Ability to direct, coach and develop department members.

Knowledge of continuous quality improvement methodology.

Proficient in leading teams and project management skills to achieve timely, efficient and effective outcomes.

Knowledgeable regarding national quality and safety associations and resources to obtain best practice.
