Salary Range: $87,000 – $111,000 annually (based on experience)

Position Overview

The RN Clinical Educator is responsible for delivering clinical education and training to long-term care (LTC) staff across multiple locations. This role partners with clinical leadership to develop, standardize, and evaluate competency-based training programs aligned with organizational policies and accreditation standards.

Approximately 75% of the role focuses on LTC education, with additional responsibilities supporting broader clinical education initiatives. This is a newly created position designed to enhance staff training, onboarding, and professional development for nurses and CNAs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement clinical education programs for LTC staff
  • Standardize and manage clinical competency programs
  • Collaborate with leadership to improve patient care quality and staff development
  • Partner with CNA educators and support preceptorship programs
  • Coordinate student clinical experiences (e.g., nursing programs)
  • Ensure training aligns with organizational goals, standards, and compliance requirements
  • Participate in system-wide clinical education initiatives
  • Apply evidence-based practices to improve training and patient outcomes
  • Evaluate effectiveness of educational programs and implement improvements
  • Serve as a liaison for clinical education opportunities

Qualifications

Education & Licensure

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Active RN license (any U.S. state accepted; Alaska license required prior to start)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • BLS Instructor certification preferred (or required within 1 year of hire)
  • Clinical Competency certification required within 3 months of hire

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of nursing experience
  • At least 2 years of Long-Term Care (LTC) experience
  • 2+ years of clinical educator/instructor experience
    (1 year may be substituted with supervisory experience)
  • Supervisory experience preferred

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of LTC and geriatric nursing practices
  • Experience designing and delivering adult education programs
  • Knowledge of evidence-based training and competency development
  • Proficiency in tools such as Teams, Workday, Canva, Articulate, SharePoint, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to evaluate training effectiveness and ensure regulatory compliance
