DescriptionThe RN Clinical Educator functions as a clinical expert, role model, mentor and resource in the clinical practice area, and collaborates with other members of the management, education, and clinical care team to identify and address staff learning needs in a competent and cost-effective manner.
The RN Clinical Educator reports to the Director of Staff Education; and in cooperation with other clinical educators, managers, supervisors, and other members of the patient care team to enhance the clinical preparation and competence of health care professionals (HCP) throughout the hospital.
It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support the organization strategic plan, the goals and direction of the quality assurance performance improvement process, and activities.
Qualifications Requirements:
- Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license is required
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (Assigned on hire – RQI)
- Minimum of five (5) years of acute pediatric clinical experience preferred
- Minimum of one (1) year in clinical education and/or staff development preferred
- Ability to lift thirty (30) pounds without assistance
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
Knowledge/Skill:
- Must possess good work ethics and a professional image at all times
- Knowledge of CMS conditions of participation, CDPH state regulations, CCS, and TJC (hospital, nursing care center, and laboratory) accreditation requirements as applicable to job
- Working knowledge of computer and software applications as applicable to job
- Possess strong communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Works responsibly in a team environment as well as independently
- Manages confidential information effectively and appropriately
