JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the coordination, planning, design, development, implementation, and support of clinical information systems within the organization’s ambulatory and outpatient settings. It provides both clinical and technical support to medical providers and their support staff in the effective use of information systems and applications that facilitate patient care.
The role contributes to the design and development of clinical workflows, actively engages in change management processes, and develops appropriate user training. It also collaborates with functional subject matter experts to identify opportunities for workflow and process improvement.
Additionally, the position supports accurate documentation of patient care within clinical applications and ensures continuous education and training of staff in alignment with professional, regulatory, and legal standards of clinical practice.
This role plays a key part in supporting medical and clinical staff by enhancing access to patient records and promoting the effective use of integrated Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software. These efforts aim to ensure patient safety, improve satisfaction and efficiency, and advance the quality of care.
This position also serves as the primary liaison between ambulatory outpatient centers, the Epic support team, and Information Services. It acts as a resource for resolving complex problems and issues related to clinical information systems.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Clinical Informatics, Nursing, Information Systems, or a related field as evidenced by primary source of verification is required
Licensure: Must hold a current, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the state of Georgia/Tennessee or possess a multistate RN license, verified as primary sourced through the appropriate licensing board, BSN preferred.
Experience: 3 years of progressive, professional, related work experience as a Registered Nurse supporting an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and clinical applications. Experience with IT Project Development and Project Management, Clinical User Training, and Development of Training Materials in a hospital system setting, preferably in an ambulatory clinic. Experience with Epic preferred. Certification as an Epic Clinical Informaticist is required. Candidates may hire into position without the Epic Clinical Informaticist certification, but must attain the certification within first 90 days of Vitruvian Health (VH) sponsored Epic training to continue employment.

Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions in typical office and patient care area situations. A flexible schedule is required. Local travel to clinics within a 15 mile radius of the base hospital campus office is common.
