SUMMARY OF DUTIES

The Residential Medical Liaison ensures the coordination, communication, and oversight of healthcare services for adults with developmental disabilities living in residential settings operated by Beyond Support Network. This role bridges the gap between medical providers, residential staff, care coordinators, and families to promote optimal health outcomes. Responsibilities include maintaining compliance with OPWDD regulations, supporting nursing staff, managing medical appointments, tracking healthcare documentation, and educating staff on health-related procedures and protocols. This role also includes providing support to those living in IRA settings in needed skills and activities as prescribed by the program and the specific valued outcomes which are uniquely tailored for and by each individual.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong organizational skills, with ability to manage multiple appointments and documentation requirements
  • Ability and desire to work collaboratively with families, providers, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Ability to work independently in the community with a group of individuals receiving services
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of OPWDD regulations, health documentation, and service delivery standards for adults with developmental disabilities
  • Familiarity with chronic health conditions, medication protocols, and behavioral health needs common in I/DD populations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems (preferably Therap)
  • Successful completion of Agency Required Trainings
  • Successfully obtain and maintain certification as Approved Medication Administration Personnel (AMAP)

EDUCATION & TRAINING

Preferred:    Five years of experience working in a Residential setting with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or in the human services or health care fields. Certification (CNA) is a plus.

Minimum:    High School Diploma or equivalency, PLUS two years of experience working in a Residential setting with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or in the human services or health care fields.

Valid New York State driver’s license in good standing, current automobile insurance, and reliable transportation required
