Since 1991, Light Counseling has served more than 100,000 Individuals, Couples, & Families with professional, confidential, and distinctly Christian counseling services in Virginia and twelve (12) other states! Light Counseling launched LC+, a national telehealth network in Spring 2023 to provide virtual, Christian counseling services to clients in multiple states.
DESCRIPTION
The REMOTE Mental Health Coach will assist individuals through the coaching relationship by working through their presenting problems, defining their coaching goals, and developing action plans to resolve life’s challenges. This position is fully remote and will be considered a 1099 contractor. The Mental Health Coach is part of an integrated team of administrative and clinical peers who provide professional, and confidential services with a distinctively Christian approach. Employment with Light Counseling (LC+) is confidential and adheres to federal and state privacy laws and practices (i.e., HIPAA). Contractors and employees are expected to work independently have flexibility, initiative, maturity, and decision-making within the framework of Light Counseling’s policy, and procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provides client coaching services to a varied population of adults, families, couples, and groups
· Follows all policies and procedures regarding service and documentation
· Participates in educational programs, in-service meetings, coaching meetings, and workshops to enhance professional development and maintain currency of methodology and techniques
· Takes initiative to link clients to other services in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team
· May work with community groups around unmet and special needs and may carry a special community assignment relevant to Light Counseling's mission
· Prepares reports and forms necessary to satisfy the agency’s needs for accountability (i.e. recording, statistics, etc.).
· May be assigned to instruct and direct newly hired coaches
· Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
· Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; coaching methods and skills
· Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
· Ability to practice active listening skills to best react and understand how new information can impact current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
· Ability to use appropriate training, instructional methods, and techniques/procedures based upon the situation and current qualifications.
· Ability to effectively communicate via written and verbal communication.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Completed AACC MHC or Life Coaching programs or similar programs that are accepted
· Must be IBCC credentialed once an offer has been accepted.
· Must pass Competency Assessment
· Must pass Ethics Assessment
· Interview
· Sign Statement of Faith
· Sign Confidentiality Agreement
· Maintain liability Insurance
· Background Checks
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Documented over 100 hours of Coaching
· Experience working with Faith-based individuals and their specific needs.
· Specialties: Marriage and Family, Recovery, Gerontology, Enneagram, Daniel Amen’s Brain Coaching, and Trauma Informed Coaching.
