Some of the Responsibilities
- Obtain prior-authorization for medications, including specialty and Hepatitis B & C medications.
- Obtain prior-authorization for radiology, CT/US Guided biopsies, Paracentesis and Capsule Endoscopies.
- Schedule, review and mail instructions and medications needed for specialty procedures.
- Prepare orders for CT/US Guided Biopsies, Paracentesis, Pelvic Floor Therapy, Speech Therapy, Therapeutic Phlebotomy, Blood Transfusion and fax to facility.
- Arrange and perform teachings for fecal transplant patients.
- Arrange and seek prior-authorization for Home Care.
What we are looking for
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology
- Demonstrated computer skills for documenting patient care in an electronic medical record
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, on the telephone, and in writing
- Ability to work independently and as a team
- Ability to read and comprehend patient medical charts, medical terminology, prescription medications, and physician messages
- Ability to multi-task
