Job Title: Pharmaceutical Sales Representative

Job Summary:
The Pharmaceutical Sales Representative is responsible for achieving sales objectives through the promotion of the company's products to healthcare professionals including physicians and pharmacists. This role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and providing solutions that meet those needs while adhering to industry regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales and Business Development:
- Promote and sell the company’s pharmaceutical products to healthcare professionals.
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive product sales.
- Achieve and exceed sales targets within assigned territories.
2. Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with healthcare professionals.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries, resolving issues, and offering product education.
- Regularly visit healthcare providers to present product information and answer questions.
3. Product Knowledge and Training:
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the company's products, including indications, usage, pricing, and competitive advantages.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and new products.
- Conduct product demonstrations and training sessions for healthcare professionals.
4. Market Research and Analysis:
- Gather and analyze market data to identify trends, opportunities, and threats.
- Monitor competitor activities and products.
- Provide feedback to management on market conditions and customer needs.
5. Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure all sales activities comply with industry regulations, company policies, and ethical standards.
- Accurately document and report sales activities, customer interactions, and other relevant information.
- Prepare and submit regular sales reports to management.
6. Collaborative Team Efforts:
- Work closely with marketing, medical, and product development teams to ensure alignment of sales strategies.
- Participate in sales meetings, training programs, and conferences as required.
- Collaborate with team members to share best practices and support collective goals.
Qualifications:
Background in pharmaceuticals or pharmacy with minimum of 2 – 3 years sales experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
Strong understanding of medical terminology and the pharmaceutical industry.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with healthcare professionals.
Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently.
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
The primary working environment is in the field, away from the company’s offices. Employees will be in a variety of environments including but not limited to public roadways, in client facilities, at commercial worksites, etc. Employees are required to be alert and aware of working conditions at all times. Employees are required to follow all safety rules and regulations at those sites.
Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory is required. Travel will include driving between facilities and in some cases using air travel, requiring stretches of time being seated in confined spaces.
Additionally, this position requires walking, standing, and pulling or carrying sales materials.
Ability to work in a variety of healthcare settings including hospitals, clinics, and private practices.
