Position: Patient Navigator – Hereditary Cancer Testing

📍 Location: Premier Radiology – Belle Meade, TN
🕗 Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

About the Role

As a Patient Navigator specializing in Hereditary Cancer Testing, you will support patients through critical stages of their diagnostic journey. You will be based in Premier Radiology – Belle Meade, TN, providing education, coordinating care, and assisting with phlebotomy. You'll work closely with a multidisciplinary clinical team to ensure a seamless, supportive, and professional patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide education and support for high-risk patients undergoing genetic testing.
• Register patients and schedule follow-up appointments.
• Build trust and confidence with patients by explaining procedures clearly and compassionately.
• Perform blood draws and specimen collection with accuracy and professionalism (~5–10% of role, with potential to expand).
• Accurately verify and label patient specimens at the time of collection.
• Maintain documentation, patient records, and uphold HIPAA compliance.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming clinical environment.
• Collaborate with the clinical team and area supervisor to complete daily tasks efficiently.
• Serve as a key patient contact, embodying HALO’s commitment to precision care and early detection.

Qualifications

Required:

• 2+ years recent experience as a Medical Assistant working with a clinical team.
• Experience with insurance verifications and authorizations (minimum 2 years).
• National Certified Phlebotomist with strong experience in blood collection.
• Current BLS certification.
• Strong phlebotomy skills, including venipuncture for genetic testing.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively across multiple sites.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable)

Preferred:

• Registered/Certified Medical Assistant.
• Bilingual - Spanish
• 2+ years of experience in a Patient Service Center or similar outpatient environment.
• Prior experience in a customer-facing role within a healthcare setting.
• Proficiency with data entry and patient systems (EMR/EHR).
