We are seeking a Mental Health Consultant to lead and sustain trauma-informed programs, support districtwide mental health initiatives, and ensure every student has access to a strong continuum of care.
Purpose Statement
The Mental Health Consultant provides district-level leadership in developing and implementing a comprehensive school mental health system. This position helps integrate school and community-based services, supports staff training and development, and ensures systems and supports are aligned with the district’s goals for student wellness and success.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with district and building administrators, multidisciplinary teams, and community partners
- Serve as a liaison to identify staff needs and coordinate professional development
- Design and deliver training aligned with mental health and trauma-informed practices
- Support and implement department goals that promote student well-being and district priorities
- Develop and support building-level systems for social-emotional learning, behavioral interventions, and mental health services
- Assist in the planning and monitoring of individualized student support plans
- Participate in relevant meetings, trainings, and workshops to stay informed and aligned with best practices
- Provide coaching and consultation to staff and teams
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and implementation
- Maintain accurate documentation to support program delivery and student services
Job Requirements
Education: Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field; Clinical licensure required (LPC, LCSW)
Experience: Job-related experience in school-based or clinical mental health services
Skills: Ability to develop systems, train staff, provide consultation, and apply mental health interventions
Knowledge: Trauma-informed care, mental health best practices, behavioral supports, community resources
Abilities: Collaborate effectively, manage multiple priorities, and maintain confidentiality
