We are seeking a results-driven Medical Sales Representative to manage and grow our footprint in the Eastern Cape region. The successful candidate will be responsible for selling and promoting a diverse portfolio of medical devices and specialised wound care products.
A core focus of this role will be introducing and driving the uptake of products awarded on the RT Tender, ensuring that healthcare facilities utilise the contracted solutions available to them.
Key Responsibilities
RT Tender Implementation: Actively introduce and promote products awarded on the RT National Tender to public sector hospitals and clinics. Ensure hospital staff and procurement units are aware of our awarded items and codes.
Sales & Promotion: Drive sales of medical devices and wound care consumables to both the private and public healthcare sectors throughout Eastern Cape
Clinical Demonstrations: Conduct professional on-site demonstrations and training sessions for clinicians on the correct application of wound care products and the operation of diagnostic devices.
Territory Growth: Identify new business opportunities and maintain existing accounts in key areas like Gqeberha, East London, Mthatha.
Pricing & Negotiation: Navigate pricing discussions and competitive benchmarking to secure orders while adhering to tender guidelines and authorised margins.
Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with Surgeons, Wound Care Nurses, Procurement Officers, and Hospital buyers.
Market Intelligence: Stay updated on competitor activities and market trends within the medical device and wound care sectors.
Experience: 2–5 years of sales experience in the medical industry. Prior experience working with RT Tenders and the public sector will be an advantage.
Product Knowledge: Specific experience in Wound Care or Diagnostic Equipment is highly advantageous.
Language: Must be fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English (written and spoken).
Regional Knowledge: Strong established network within the Eastern Cape healthcare landscape (Private and State).
Skills: Ability to pivot between technical device selling (capital equipment) and clinical consumable selling (dressings/wound care).
Travel: Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively within the province.
Education: A diploma or degree in Life Sciences, Nursing, or a related field will be an advantage.
