GENERAL SUMMARY
The Manager of Ambulatory Services is responsible for leading and coordinating daily clinical support operations across designated ambulatory clinics, including support for satellite expansion. This role ensures the delivery of safe, efficient, and patient-centered care by overseeing clinical support services, supervising staff, implementing workflows, and upholding facility compliance. The manager also provides oversight of the Community Paramedicine Program, ensuring high-risk patients receive coordinated home-based care in partnership with external vendors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Oversees clinical support operations in designated ambulatory clinics and satellite locations, including implementation of workflows, policies, and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care.
•Provides leadership and oversight for the Community Paramedicine Program, coordinating with external vendors to ensure timely, at-home care for high-risk patients
•Supervises, trains, and evaluates assigned clinical support personnel; manages hiring, onboarding, scheduling, timekeeping, and performance improvement plans.
•Ensures compliance with facility, state, and federal regulations related to patient care, safety, staffing, and accreditation standards.
•Collaborates with Group Practice Managers and other stakeholders to develop and monitor quality and performance metrics; supports population health initiatives and improvement efforts
•Assists in the development, management, and monitoring of departmental budgets, addressing fiscal challenges, and contributing to strategic planning
•Leads or participates in quality improvement and operational efficiency initiatives, including workflow analysis, documentation, and impact reporting
•Serves as a liaison between the clinical support team and providers to ensure collaborative, interdisciplinary care coordination
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and healthcare regulations relevant to ambulatory and community-based care
•Perform direct reports’ responsibilities as needed by providing clinical assistance in responsible clinics/departments or as assigned by the Director of Nursing for optimal clinic flow and patient safety.
•In an effort to improve quality of care and enhance efficiency, the role will:
•Analyze existing business processes and develop strategies for improvement.
•Implement, monitor and upgrade the improved processes.
•Document all process changes and updates.
•Monitor the impact of process changes and make adjustments as necessary.
•Prepare and present reports on the progress and impact of process improvement initiatives.
•Participate in special projects to support the operations of the organization, and perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/LICENSES/CERTIFICATES
•Required: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Seven (7) years of clinical RN experience which includes a minimum of (3) years in leadership, preferably at the supervisor or manager level; work experience may not substitute for education requirement. Current Alabama RN license, or eligible to be licensed by the Alabama Board of Nursing. Current CPR/BLS certification via the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
•Preferred: Five (5) years of supervisory/management experience. Additional Work Experience: case management, patient education, professional development, public/population health nursing; Certifications: Ambulatory Care Certification (AMB); Nurse Executive-Board Certified (NE-BC) or higher; Certified Nurse Manager and Leader (CNML) or higher; Nursing Case Management Certification

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role may require lifting up to 50 lbs.
The work location for this role is onsite.
