The University of Michigan-Flint Physical Therapy Department is seeking applicants for LEO Intermittent Lecturer for the Winter 2025 semester as a laboratory instructor to assist the primary instructor in teaching PTP 665, Fundamentals of Tests and Measures.Β  This position will be on Mondays, Noon to 1:30 p.m., 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Tuesdays, 12:30 pm to 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.Β  January 2025 through April 2025.

Responsibilities:

  • The faculty member will be responsible for conducting labs and administering practical exams for this course
  • The expertise of the faculty member will be utilized in meeting course objectives for modules related to the application of theoretical basis for measurement, sources of error, and clinical interpretation of tests and measure applied to examination techniques common to all areas of physical therapy practice
  • Preference is for one person to assist in all labs, but assignment to an individual lab may be considered.


Required qualifications:

  • Graduate of a CAPTE accredited (or equivalent) professional PT program
  • Bachelor degree required; master degree or higher preferred
  • Licensed or regulated in a US jurisdiction as a physical therapist
  • One year of full-time (or equivalent) post-licensure clinical experience in physical therapy or relevant content area
  • Contemporary expertrise in the application of the theoretical basis for measurement, sources of error, and clinical interpretation of tests and measures as applied to examination techniques common to all areas of physical therapy practice
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching and student evaluationΒ 
  • Member of the APTA preferred
