Primary Functions under the Direction of the Director: |
- Providing clinical expertise and support to the team, acting as a resource for complex cases and ensuring best practices are followed. Ensuring that patient care is delivered safely, effectively, and in accordance with established clinical standards and protocols.
- Monitor the daily performance of clinical team members to ensure duties are completed. Coaches, trains, and develop employees, providing reinforcement and feedback. Delegates appropriately. Communicates policies and procedures as well as important organization information.

- Assisting in the orientation and training of new staff and providing ongoing education to enhance the skills and knowledge of the team.
- Continuously works to improve department performance. Acts as a team member in improving organizational performance, working effectively interdepartmentally and assisting in change initiatives beneficial to the organization.

- Identifying and addressing clinical and operational issues, developing and implementing solutions, and escalating concerns as needed.

- Sets an example by demonstrating a high level of customer service. Fosters an environment where customer service is a priority.

- Performs age related patient assessments and reassessments as per department policy. Able to assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Recognizes, interprets, documents and communicates significant information (Situation, Background, Assessment, and Recommendation) necessary for quality patient care and related patient information.

- Treats patients and families with dignity and respect. Ensures confidentiality of patient records. Interacts professionally with patients and families and provides explanations and verbal reassurance as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications: | Education: | Current Registered Nurse Licensure in the State of Ohio required BLS certification within 30 days of employment is required. ACLS certification within 6 months of employment is required. PALS certification within 6 months of employment is required. | | Experience: | Three or more years of previous experience in a Critical Care/MedSurg Setting. | | Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: | Basic knowledge of computers. Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English. Demonstrates flexibility, ability to multi-task and effective organizational and interpersonal skills. |
