Occupational Summary:
The Hospice Sales Liaison/Representative is responsible for planning and implementing marketing and sales activities for the ARN Hospice program. Major functions include developing and maintaining referral sources, service coordination, promoting and communicating the image and philosophy of ARN Hospice, sales support to programs, and referral of clients for ARN Hospice admission.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (and % of job time devoted to duty or task):
Within the limits of authorized corporate policies, procedures, standards, programs, and budgets, is responsible for, and has commensurate authority to accomplish the following duties:
1. Develops and maintains contact with key, targeted referral sources toward the generation of new referrals and admissions to A.R.N. Hospice. Develops new referral sources and follows up with discharged clients to determine their need to re-establish services. Provides referral sources with current information on services. 50%
2. Responsible for achievement of individual sales/admissions goals (2+ per month results in bonuses) as developed and prioritized by Administrator. Develops and coordinates referrals leading to admissions. Coordinates and facilitates client referral and intake, conducts a pre-admission review of clients and obtains, as appropriate, written orders/documentation from physicians. 30%
3. Appropriately identifies needs of community seniors. Coordinates education and program services to meet identified needs. 10%
4. Develops the annual Marketing Plan with the Hospice Administrator. Participates in evaluation of marketing activities, including on-going competitive analysis, marketing needs assessments, and tracking of referrals. 5%
5. Participates in activities and events that promote ARN Hospice, including partnering with Hooverwood marketing and admissions teams for various community events. 2%
6. Participates in all hospice department and program planning meetings. Reports information to program staff on marketing issues and facilitates coordination of marketing activities. 1%
7. Attends local training as needed on sales and marketing methods. 1%
8. Maintains current knowledge of hospice funding and government regulations. 1%

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in related field preferred
Experience:
1. Preferred one year experience in home health or hospice work environment
2. Experience in marketing activities, preferably in the home health or hospice environment
3. Two years of sales experience desired, preferably in the home health or hospice environment
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
1. Demonstrated excellence in communication and customer service skills.
2. Ability to develop and maintain long term relationships with potential referral resources and customers.
3. Ability to market community hospice services.
4. Ability to develop Marketing Plans, including evaluation and assessment of marketing activities.
5. Ability and desire to serve seniors in meeting their hospice needs.
6. Highly motivated, confident, self-starter
7. Proficient in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, and calendar management software.
Other:
· Valid state driver’s license.
· Motor Vehicle Driving Record satisfactory to the agency and its insurance providers.
· Proof of motor vehicle insurance.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Driving car/sitting: Typically, up to 3 hours/day
Walking/climbing stairs: Typically, 3-4 hour/day
RELATIONSHIPS:
1. Reports directly to the Administrator of Hospice.
2. Establishes and maintains strong working relationship with ARN Hospice personnel.
3. Maintains strong working relationships with surrounding hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and MD offices.
