Ellsworth County Medical Center (ECMC) is seeking a Healthcare Quality Improvement Specialist (RN or LPN) to champion infection prevention, patient safety, and quality initiatives. What You'll Do

Lead Quality & Infection Control Initiatives – Oversee and implement best practices to maintain a safe and compliant healthcare environment.
Monitor & Improve Patient Outcomes – Analyze infection data, hospital-acquired infections (HAIs), and quality metrics to drive continuous improvement.
Educate & Empower Staff – Provide training on infection prevention, safety protocols, and quality care standards.
Ensure Regulatory Compliance – Stay ahead of state, federal, and accreditation requirements to maintain hospital-wide excellence.
Evaluate Patient Satisfaction – Work with Press Ganey surveys to assess and enhance the patient experience while identifying areas for growth.

Qualifications

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education:      

Associate’s degree from an accredited school of Nursing; bachelor’s degree preferred

Experience:

Minimum 2 years’ experience working in an acute hospital setting; previous experience working with infection control preferred

Preferred Skills:    

  • Excellent skills in organization, prioritization and multi-tasking
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Excellent interpersonal and technical skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must have strong computer and research skills to ensure they remain up to date with new developments, best practices and standards of care within the field of healthcare.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to explain diverse technical problems in easy-to-understand language
  • Strong independent judgment and decision-making skills

Certifications/Registrations:

Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Kansas and must maintain registration required in the state of Kansas. BLS required.
