JOB DESCRIPTION

                            TEACHER                            

 

QUALIFICATIONS: As set by state certification standards 

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing and verifiable work as a Registered Nurse.
  • Utilize Indiana's standards in the Health and Human Services Pathway for Certified Clinical Medical Assistant to teach juniors and seniors in a classroom and lab setting.
  • Teach Principles of Healthcare, Healthcare Fundamentals, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)and Healthcare Specialist Capstone.
  • Work with students and Work Based Learning Coordinator to secure clinical experiences for students.
  • Demonstrate effective communications and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • CCMA Certification required or must be obtained soon after hire, Additional Healthcare experience preferred.
  • Ability and desire to attain a Workplace Specialist teaching license.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Contracts, compensations and expectations will be consistent   with state statute, Board policy, administrative regulations and negotiated agreement.                

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at times designated.
  • Develop and maintain a classroom environment conductive to effective learning within the limits of the available resources.
  • Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
  • Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media consistent with the available resources.
  • Take reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
  • Evaluate student progress.
  • Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations and Board policy.
  • Assist in selection of books, equipment and other instructional materials.
  • Work to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning student academic and behavioral progress.
  • Perform all other reasonable assigned duties.
