    Position Purpose 
     
     
     
    -  Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to develop students' skills and competence in pre-nursing and the ability to problem solve in a wide variety of settings. 
     
     
     
      Responsibilities:
    • Provide a mix of theoretical and hands-on skills in the medical health science field, technical skills, the use of technology and the ability to problem solve in a wide variety of settings.  Major topics include: human body systems, medical terminology, biological concepts, concepts related to health science, health careers, patient nursing care, lab experiences, basic knowledge of clinical assisting and preparation for the CNA exam.
    • Teacher skill and knowledge in the medical field, nursing, health care providers, and occupations
    • Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment and facilities
    • Monitor, assess and provide appropriate feedback of student performance and progress
    • Keep accurate attendance reports

    -  Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

    -  Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles. 
     
     
     
    -  In-dept knowledge of, and ability to use, MS Office Standard (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) 2003 and 2007. 
     
     
     
    -  Knowledge of PC and MAC hardware and software. 
     
     
     
    -  Knowledge of a wide range of industrial, technical and technology-related subject areas, as well as best practices in incorporating technology into student learning activities. 
     
     
     
    -  Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans. 
     
     
     
    -  Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students. 
     
     
     
    -  Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed. 
     
     
     
    -  Ability to organize and coordinate work. 
     
     
     
    -  Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.

    Qualifications:
    • Applicant must possess or be able to obtain an Indiana Workplace Specialist Teaching License and meet continuing education requirements to maintain teaching certification
    • Applicant should have industry recognized credentials and/or certifications that pertain to the position.  Bachelor’s Degree in any Standard Health Occupations License 9-12 or any Occupational Specialist I, II, III in Healthcare Occupation 9-12, or CTE Health Careers License.
