The Seaway Valley Prevention Council seeks a compassionate and motivated individual to serve as a full-time Health Educator.
The Health Educator implements one-time and recurring health education presentations and programs in local school districts, agencies, and the community. Various activities include group education, one-on-one youth sessions, and school-wide presentations. The position also includes planning and attending events and activities in the community.
This position will primarily be responsible for implementing the Triple P Positive Parenting Program and Teen Intervene.
Applicants should enjoy working with youth, public speaking, and working with the community. This position involves working with individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Successful applicants must be able to work independently, be creative, and be adaptive.
This position also involved contacting community members through the telephone and email, so strong communication skills are necessary.
The position requires travel between school districts and throughout St. Lawrence County. Some evening and weekend hours are required.
The minimum requirement is an associate's degree in Education, Public Health, or a related field. Bachelor's degree preferred.
