Job Summary:

The Head of Quality Improvement (QI) is a strategic role that works collaboratively with key stakeholders across the business to ensure our Quality vision is realised. Developing relationships with engineering, supply chain, finance, customers, suppliers and beyond, this role will spearhead quality improvement projects and initiatives in a methodical and agile manner to establish efficient and effective outcomes. The role shall: deploy lean and six sigma initiatives, lead complex transformations/improvement projects, provide consultancy, establish and enhance data analysis tools and reporting, provide training, actively champion the Quality culture, and drive a risk reduction, root cause and nonconformance prevention culture.

Responsibilities:

Leading the development and implementation of Quality Improvement: best-practice, vision, strategy, policies,
processes and procedures.
Establishing a clear improvement roadmap that aligns with the vision and goals of the wider business and national intent.
Targeting current and potential future capability-risks and devising tactical and strategic plans to mitigate such risks.
Providing clear direction and leadership for Quality Improvement activities across the business and ensuring your team continue to work collaboratively with key stakeholders, both within and between entities.
Leading and/or supporting new initiatives/projects such as Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), First
Article Inspection Reporting, Management System modernisation, Statistical Process Control (SPC) deployment,
Robotic Process Automation (RPA) deployment, train-the-trainer, Competency Framework overhaul and others, until formal hand-over is achieved with the respective process owner(s)

Drive safety first mindset across the business empowering team members to act accordingly.
Drive a culture of quality excellence, innovation and achieving efficiency through effective management and embedding a culture of continuous improvement.
Adopt Proactive risk-based approach backed by data and logical decision making ensuring the validity of current practice.
Training, developing, monitoring, and evaluating team performance. Identify current and future skills gaps in respect of business needs ensuring team are well positioned for growth.
Planning and forecasting assigned cost account ensuring appropriate management within approved limits.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to establish measurement and reporting mechanisms based on lean visual fundamentals including data collection, management, and processes across multiple entities.
Act as senior management representative for all QI concerns taking appropriate actions to resolve issues raised by stakeholders.




Qualifications:
Β 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering Discipline
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certified
  • Preferred Master’s Degree in an Engineering Discipline

Experience:
Β 
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in in Quality Process Improvement within in manufacturing industry
  • 8 years experience in the defence industry including time spent in the GCC
