Description

As the EHR Trainer, you will work alongside the Informatics Department analysts to provide training to all new HealthLinc employees and providers who will use the EHR for their job.  You will also provide existing staff and provider training in new EHR features as well as on-going support training to maintain standard EHR documentation. Facilitate the flow of communication to staff from the informatics department and from staff to the clinical applications manager to ensure training is effective and to continuously improve the content and delivery training.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops and Maintains the Training Syllabuses for all EHR roles by specialty for all new staff and providers.   
  • Develops and Maintains Training Guides and/or User Training Guides for all functions in EHR. 
  • Develop, Maintain and Use EHR set up lists for every class to allow the trainee to experience true life functions within the EHR. 
  • Train all new staff who utilize the EHR for their job. 
  • Train all new providers in EHR. 
  • Develop and maintain a monthly Training Plan to use in Support Training within the clinics.  Facilitate that training in every clinic every month. 
  • Coordinate with QI to assure EHR supports the individual clinic goals. 
  • Audit EHR Notes to assure users are documenting appropriately. 
  • Offer special classes in focus areas such as CPT/ICD 10 coding.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in at least one of the following: 
  • Health Information Administration 
  • Training and Development 
  • Technical Training and Development 
  • Technical Writing 
  • Nursing (BSN) 

Experience

  • At least 1 year of experience working in healthcare preferred

Skills/Job Requirement

  • Experience in a clinical setting 
  • Understanding of medical/clinical terminology 
  • Proven experience in training and teaching software preferably clinical software 
  • Minimum of 3 years in training
