GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The Electronic Health Records (EHR) Specialist provides strategic and technical oversight of Brighton Center’s Netsmart platforms, including myEvolv, myHealthPointe, and Bells AI, across our Early Childhood Intervention (ECI), Special Education Support Services (SESS), and Pediatric Therapy Clinic (PTC) programs. This role leads efforts to analyze program needs, design system workflows, and ensure data integrity and regulatory compliance through thoughtful configuration and system management.
The EHR Specialist exercises discretion and independent judgment in developing solutions that directly impact operational efficiency and service delivery. This position collaborates with program leaders, the IT department, and external vendors to plan and implement system enhancements, oversee help desk trends, establish data standards, and maintain security and compliance protocols. This position reports to the VP of Technology and Data Analytics.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
System Strategy, Enhancements, and Configuration (45%)
- Evaluate program workflows and identify opportunities for system improvements that advance operational objectives and compliance standards.
- Design, configure, and test complex forms, events, user roles, and navigation workflows within myEvolv and other Netsmart tools.
- Make recommendations and lead planning for new system functionality to meet program and regulatory needs.
- Maintain rigorous documentation, version control, and organizational data standards.
Help Desk Oversight and Systems Analysis (30%)
- Provide advanced support and serve as the primary internal expert on Netsmart platforms.
- Analyze help desk trends to proactively identify systemic issues, recommend training or process changes, and implement long-term solutions.
- Manage escalation and resolution of complex technical issues with Netsmart support.
Training, Documentation, and Best Practices (20%)
- Develop and maintain comprehensive training resources and documentation to ensure consistent system use and data accuracy across programs.
- Lead onboarding and continuing education sessions for staff, promoting data stewardship and system best practices.
- Guide program managers on optimal use of system tools to achieve program goals.
Other Duties (5%)
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related or business systems field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing EHR systems or comparable technical platforms, with demonstrated responsibility for systems configuration and workflow design.
- Strong knowledge of data integrity, user security, and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA).
- Ability to exercise independent judgment in analyzing complex problems and implementing effective solutions.
Preferred:
- Experience with myEvolv, myHealthPointe, or other Netsmart tools.
- Familiarity with Texas-specific systems (e.g., T-KIDS) and early childhood or pediatric therapy environments.
- Foundational understanding of SQL or SaaS platform architecture.

- Prolonged periods working at a computer and resolving complex system issues.
- Occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. and driving for onsite support or training.
