DescriptionThe Director, Business Process Improvement is responsible for leading the design, optimization, and execution of enterprise-wide process improvement initiatives across a healthcare logistics organization. This role drives operational excellence by enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, improving service quality, and ensuring compliance within a highly regulated healthcare environment. The Director partners cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, IT, finance, and customer-facing teams to deliver scalable, data-driven process improvements that support strategic growth.
Lead Process Improvement Strategy
- Develop and execute a comprehensive, enterprise-wide process improvement roadmap aligned with organizational goals
- Lead process optimization efforts across the full business value stream, including both operational and back-office functions (order management, finance, customer service, and administrative processes)
- Champion continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen) to drive sustainable performance improvements
Operational Excellence & End-to-End Efficiency
- Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and bottlenecks across the end-to-end workflow, from purchase order (PO) through sales order (SO), including supporting back-office processes
- Design and implement scalable solutions that improve throughput, accuracy, cost efficiency, and service levels
- Drive standardization of processes across sites and functions to enable consistency and scalability
Process Mapping & Workflow Optimization
- Lead current-state and future-state process mapping efforts (value stream mapping, swimlane diagrams) across the enterprise.
- Establish baseline performance and identify opportunities for simplification, automation, and waste reduction
- Redesign workflows aligned to best practices, ensuring seamless integration between front-line operations and back-office processes
Data Analysis & Insight Generation
- Analyze data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities across the end-to-end value stream
- Translate insights into actionable recommendations that drive operational and strategic improvements
- Support root cause analysis of performance issues and measure impact of implemented solutions
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with supply chain, operations, IT, finance, customer service, and other corporate functions to drive alignment and execution
- Facilitate cross-functional workshops to align process design, priorities, and implementation plans
- Ensure alignment between operational execution and supporting business functions
Team Leadership
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing process improvement and industrial engineering team
- Establish standards, tools, and best practices for process mapping, analysis, and optimization
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred
- 8–12+ years of experience in process improvement, operations, or supply chain roles
- 5+ years of experience in a healthcare, logistics, or regulated environment
Certifications (Preferred)
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt
- PMP or equivalent project management certification
