Position Summary: 

The Dental Clinical Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing professional dental care services. They coordinate with dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants for all clinical and operational functions related to patient care.   This position manages the Dental Assistant Training Program, ensuring that Dental Assistant staff are trained and working within their professional scope.

 

The Dental Clinical Operations Manager demonstrates leadership qualities and professionalism in the clinic setting by recognizing and addressing problems calmly and confidently, while striving to facilitate effective communication throughout the clinic. The Dental Clinical Operations Manager provides oversight of quality, cost-effective, and compassionate dental care and treatment for patients.

 

The Dental Clinical Operations Manager works closely with the dental leadership team. This position requires demonstrating respect for the rights of all patients and providing respectful, considerate care tailored to each patient's individual needs and preferences. The Dental Clinical Operations Manager will ensure a safe and confidential environment for patients, their families, and all personnel.

Essential Functions: 

  • Promotes the philosophy and mission of Elevated Community Health.
  • Responsible for Dental Clinical Operations in conjunction with the Dental Leadership Team.
  • Works closely with the Dental Director and Dental Service Line Manager to ensure the clinic adheres to all relevant compliance requirements, rules, policies, regulations, and directives.
  • Manages the Dental Assistant Training Program.
  • Orders supplies for all dental sites.
  • Maintains equipment for all dental sites.
  • Oversees Labs for all dental sites.
  • Creates the DA schedule according to business needs.
  • Approves accurate timecards for Dental Assistant staff.
  • Can perform all duties and responsibilities of the Dental Clinical Operations Manager position.
  • Actively participates in team meetings, staff meetings, and any other special projects.
  • Applies effective communication techniques, demonstrates knowledge of ethics, jurisprudence, and patient confidentiality. Recognizes, understands, and responds to dental and medical emergencies.
  • Responsible for performing procedures and tasks that may involve potential exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, including the risk of mucous membrane or skin contact, spills, or splashes in accordance with standard safety protocols.
  • Other Duties Assigned by the Dental Director.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Grants are vital to ECH revenues and directly or indirectly support all positions. This role may have responsibilities that are closely associated with grant deliverables. Grants and grant responsibilities may change over Time.
  • Complete all the required training as designated by HR and the position supervisor.

  • Willingness to travel and work at other ECH locations as determined by the supervisor.
  • Comply with all applicable Credentialing and Privileging requirements in a timely manner.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:  

 

Must-Haves to be successful:

  • At least one (1) year of experience as a Dental Assistant or completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program.
  • Current CPR certification is required.
  • Certification as a Dental Assistant.
  • Certified in Dental Radiology.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using computers for a variety of tasks.
  • Able to provide excellent patient care.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language. 
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions and deal with multiple linguistic variables. 
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment, be self-directed, and organized. 
  • Ability to reason objectively. 
  • Ability to handle various duties that may be interrupted or changed by immediate circumstances.
  • Ability to assess, project, and plan for patients' needs.
  • Ability to interpret state/ federal/agency regulations. 
  • Ability to document concisely, accurately, and promptly. 
  • Ability to work well in a high-stress environment.
  • Continuing education is required
  • Knowledge of computer software applications

 

Nice to Have:

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.
  • N2O2 Certification is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Dental software is preferred.
  • Previous training in oral surgery, preventive dentistry, and four-handed dentistry is preferred.

 

Work Environment: 

The work environment in a healthcare setting can be fast-paced, involving direct interaction with patients and healthcare professionals. This role is highly clerical.
