Duties & Responsibilities
Main purpose of the job:
Contribute to the provision of a comprehensive approach to quality improvement and systems management in the SAPRIN study
Location:
7 Esselen Street, Hillbrow, Wits RHI Research Centre Clinical Research Site (CRS)
Key performance areas:
Identify missing data, inconsistencies and errors and follow-up or report on missing data or errors
Conduct relevant trainings as required
Distribute regular QC reports to relevant team members (Analyse information recorded when necessary)
Provide administrative support, i.e. copying, filing and archiving
Assist regulatory compliance officer with maintenance of SAPRIN regulatory files and printing of submissions for IRBs
To collect data accurately using a survey questionnaire on Survey Solutions (SS) databases, which are installed in a tablet device
Resolve data queries of rejected interviews by Quality Control (QC)
Take ownership and accountability for tasks and demonstrates effective self-management
Follow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of own work are consistently and accurately maintained
Maintain a positive attitude and respond openly to feedback
Take ownership for driving own career development in attending training and development sessions and relevant meetings
Compile daily reports of activities completed
Perform additional duties per study Delegation of Authority Logs
Required minimum education and training:
Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent however a Relevant Tertiary Degree would be advantageous
Required minimum work experience:
Minimum 2 or more years relevant work experience with data quality systems and/or data capturing
Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities:
Experience working at various levels of data collection, developing and maintaining data systems, working with qualitative and quantitative collection and analysis.
Thorough with good attention to detail
Ordered and systematic with a tendency to adhere to protocols
Good administrative skills are required together with proficiency in Microsoft Office and database packages
Able to work to deadlines
Demonstrated data capturing speed and accuracy
Confidentiality, tact and discretion must be maintained at all times
Sound interpersonal and communication skills
Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
