Position Overview:
Greene Central High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Health Science/Nursing Fundamentals Career and Technical Education (CTE) Teacher to join our CTE Department. This position is ideal for a licensed RN who is committed to preparing high school students for careers in the healthcare field through engaging instruction, hands-on clinical experiences, and leadership development.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Teach Health Science I, Health Science II, Biomedical Technology I, Biomedical Technology II, and Nursing Fundamentals courses aligned with North Carolina CTE standards.
- Deliver instruction that integrates academic, technical, and employability skills necessary for students pursuing health-related careers.
- Supervise and facilitate clinical experiences at approved healthcare facilities for Nursing Fundamentals students.
- Prepare students for state-recognized credentials, including the NC Nurse Aide I Certification (NA I).
- Maintain current partnerships with local healthcare providers and community organizations.
- Manage classroom and lab environments that simulate real-world healthcare settings.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that accommodate diverse learners and promote active engagement.
- Maintain accurate student records, including clinical hours, credentialing data, and safety documentation.
- Support student participation in Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) and serve as the chapter co-advisor.
- Participate in CTE department initiatives, school events, and professional development.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a current, unencumbered license in North Carolina.
- Minimum of two years of full-time work experience as an RN within the past five years (hospital, long-term care, or clinical setting preferred).
- Must meet or be willing to complete the requirements for North Carolina Health Science CTE teacher licensure.
