General Description

Pay for this position is based on a 12 month contract. This position will be located at the WCJC Bay City Campus.

The permanent responsibility of a faculty member is to provide the most effective instruction possible in his/her discipline.   Supervision is received from appropriate supervisor.  The faculty member works to insure that his/her instruction is meeting the educational needs of students.  Classes are offered during daytime, evenings, and weekends as well as some College holidays.   Classes are offered at various times during the academic year as well as at various campuses and offsite locations as needed.

Requirements

This position requires a minimum of a certificate in Carpentry or closely related field, with three years of full-time related work experience OR possess a High School Diploma or GED with five years of full-time related experience.  Additionally, this position requires NCCER instructor certification or the ability to become NCCER instructor certified within the first 60 days of employment.This position is required to meet minimum requirements for teaching at the post-secondary level set by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, and accrediting agencies for individual programs.  A criminal background check is required.
