Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Podiatry Clinicians to join the Allied Health Education and Podiatry teams in the role of Clinical Educator.
Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.
Services are provided through our six main campuses:
Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.
About the Role:
The Allied Health Clinical Educator – Podiatry will have a lead role in co-designing, delivering and evaluating clinically-based education and training for Podiatry staff across tall career stages.
This will involve developing and implementing responsive, evidence-based clinical skills training - discipline specific and where appropriate, interdisciplinary – delivered through multiple modalities within a standardized framework across Allied Health.
In partnership with the Allied Health Professional Education Lead, the broader education team, and Podiatry leaders, this role will oversee the alignment of training programs with workforce needs, ensuring their relevance and sustainability.
The role will also ensure that training is delivered within a psychologically safe environment, supported by continuous consultation and analysis.
The Allied Health Clinical Educator - Podiatry will lead the design, delivery, evaluation, and continuous improvement of training and support for Podiatry learners, including upskilling, induction, integration, and on-the-job support for clinical skills and well-being across adult and paediatric domains. They will champion interdisciplinary education, ensure access to interdisciplinary learning opportunities, and play a key role in building workforce capacity in supervision, teaching, and support, in collaboration with grade 4 lead roles within the Allied Health Education team
The successful applicant will have a strong understanding of adult education, interprofessional education, and facilitation, with experience in clinical skills training across various modalities.
They will demonstrate excellent communication, project management, and collaboration skills, and promote a psychologically safe, supportive learning environment.
The position will be actively involved in the operations of their discipline, the AH education team and the broader Allied Health Division through relevant committees, research and quality improvement activities.
This role requires regular travel across sites due to the diverse requirements of the Allied Health education program and may be based at different sites as needed or directed.
