Essential Functions
On-site position, not remote work
Training - Assist with ensuring that staff are adequately trained to provide consistent, timely, and accurate documentation that is in compliance with state agencies, thus securing adequate funding levels while maintaining a comprehensive record of the care provided to individuals;
Therap Database Management - Monitor aspects of the Therap database in accordance with agency policies and external regulations while ensuring users have appropriate access and knowledge needed to capture comprehensive records related to the care of individuals served;
Compliance and Quality Improvement - Ensure the agency maintains full adherence to the regulatory policies and procedures to maintain its stellar reputation of promoting and protecting the human rights of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities;
- Proactively anticipates, reviews and analyzes all relevant state and federal statutes and regulations and waiver manuals to monitor changes in and communicate those changes to relevant staff within the organization. Assists in determining agency impact and translating requirements into agency operations;
- Assists with investigations as needed and in ensuring that all reporting for the agency is submitted timely, is of quality including drafting and submitting unusual incident reports with thorough and complete facts;
- Provides valuable input into the development and implementation of policies and procedures to conform to relevant state, federal, and/or industry standards and requirements including assistance with management of the policy and procedure database;
- Researches questions from staff regarding regulatory compliance as assigned by the Chief Compliance and Quality Improvement Officer/designee and provides timely follow-up;
- Assists in the implementation of audit processes to ensure compliance with federal and state statutes and regulations and program guidance for all lines of business, with duties including but not limited to - conducting audits, analyzing information, identifying deficiencies, developing reports and formulating recommendations for corrective action;
- Responds in a timely fashion to external requests for information, with duties including but not limited to; (A) Responding to audit requests, (B) Coordinating responses from appropriate department directors and managers, and (C) Assisting in the preparation of corrective action plans;
- Reviews all General Event Reports, requests further information and notifications from directors and supervisors as needed;
- Submits Unusual Incident Reports to ORM Unit as assigned in a timely manner; with accurate, complete and thorough details;
- Submits follow up Unusual Incident Reports to DDD as needed;
- Assists the Compliance and Quality department with completing and submitting investigation reports, as needed

QualificationsEducation/Qualifications
- Bachelorβs Degree preferred, or, actively enrolled towards completion;
- Proficiency in the use of Therap preferred;
- Prior knowledge of NJ Community Care and Supports Program helpful;
- Knowledge of CARF accreditation standards helpful
