Just Better Care Eastern Suburbs is looking for passionate Clinical Support Worker to join our caring and dynamic team.
We provide in-home disability and aged care services, supporting people to live independently and with dignity. We believe that people of all ages and abilities deserve access to the support and resources they need to live where and how they choose.
Our office services four key areas in the Sydney Metro region: Eastern Suburbs, Inner West, Sutherland, and St George.
About the Role
This role involves working directly with customers, supporting them in various aspects of daily living while respecting their independence, dignity, and safety. You will be providing assistance to customers with physical, mental, emotional, and social disabilities in their homes and communities.
Main Duties:
- Assisting clients with their personal care needs such as showering, dressing and eating.
- Assisting clients with their mobility and communication needs.
- Participating in planning the care of individuals.
- Following therapy plans such as interventions to assist those with dementia and behavioural problems.
- Observing and reporting changes in client’s condition, and reporting complaints about care.
- Assisting with rehabilitation exercises, basic treatment and delivering medications.
- Providing direct support and assistance to therapists.
- The Clinical Support Worker provides and delivers individual and personalised support and resources to customers, so that they may continue to live in their homes.
- The Clinical Support Worker responsibilities may include, working under the guidance and supervision of medical professionals, monitoring and communicating customer’s condition to the Coordinator, transportation, light domestic duties, personal hygiene, providing meals and other health and wellness related activities.
- The Clinical Support Workers will demonstrate a commitment to best practice, ensuring that all services are provided in a caring and respectful way in accordance with Just Better Care’s policy and procedures.
Essential
- AQF Certificate II or III (ANZSCO Skill Level 4)
- At least one year of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above. In some instances relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may be required in addition to the formal qualification.
- Experience in high care such as spinal cord injury, palliative care, mental health support, catheter care, or epilepsy/seizure management.
- Previous experience with manual handling and various types of assistive equipment.
- Registration or licensing may be required.
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance / Criminal Record Check
- Current First Aid certificate/CPR
- Current Australian Drivers Licence
- Reliable, registered, and insured vehicle
- Smartphone with internet access
- Proof of Working Rights in Australia (i.e. Birth Certificate/Citizenship Certificate/Passport/VISA)
- Ability to be reliably contacted via telephone and email
- Experience or willingness to assist with personal care and daily living tasks
- Reliable, punctual, and efficient in completing duties
- Respectful, client-focused attitude with a commitment to quality care
- Team-oriented with good communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn, develop skills, and participate in ongoing training
- Good written and spoken English skills for effective workplace communication
