Clinical Support Specialist

US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Clinical Support Specialist to join our team at Pima Heart and Vascular in Tucson AZ. 

  Responsibilities: 

• Schedule patient appointments 
• Collect vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight and height for recording in patient charts 
• Handle incoming faxes, orders, referrals, scanning, etc. 
• Work with Medical Assistants to ensure patients are roomed in a timely manner 
• Send out prescription orders per physician orders and manage prescription refills 
• Gather prior authorizations on all medications 
• Fill out testing orders and explain testing to the patient 
• Return patient calls/tasks, even if only to acknowledge receipt of the voicemail and that an answer is being sought 
• Ensure charts are being prepped and checked to ensure that the proper paperwork is included 
• Prepare bag for travel to satellite clinics 
• Coordinate remote clinics as needed
• Answer operator calls if the operator is out or unavailable 
• Manage all hospital procedure orders, scheduling and authorizations 
• Check voicemails and respond in a timely manner 
• Maintain a stocked and updated Code Cart 
• Perform other duties as assigned or required
   

Requirements: 

• Healthcare setting knowledge
• Medical office experience preferred but not required
• Cardiovascular experience preferred but not required
