Clinical Support Manager
The Clinical Support Manager is responsible for overseeing clinical training and support across all Lumio Dental clinics. This role requires a dynamic leader with a strong clinical background in dental practices, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to mentor and lead clinical teams. Working closely with the Clinical Support team and reporting to Senior Management, the Clinical Support Manager ensures that clinical procedures, protocols, and compliance standards are consistently upheld across all locations.
Key Responsibilities:
Training & Onboarding:
- Assist in developing and delivering onboarding training materials for newly hired dental assistants.
- Mentor local training teams to ensure newly hired dental assistants are fully trained in their roles and expectations within their clinic.
- Oversee the onboarding of newly acquired teams by providing clinical trainers for a smooth transition.
- Be available on-site to meet with clinical teams during pre-close or post-close phases of acquisitions.
Clinical Team Support:
- Train and mentor Lead Dental Assistants to provide effective clinical support, including:
- Utilizing the onboarding checklist to ensure comprehensive new hire training
- Familiarity with Open Dental software, digital imaging software, operatory setup, and supply locations
- Effective patient communication, proper verbiage, and hand-off procedures to doctors and teams
- Adhering to infection control and sterilization protocols
- Managing clinical schedule flow efficiently
- Train Lead Dental Assistants on inventory processes, clinical compliance, procurement systems, and clinical team development.
- Provide ongoing training as needed in:
- Implementation of new clinical procedures
- Clinical software systems
- Professional development for clinical leaders (LDAs, training teams)
- Actively collaborate with Operations leaders to enhance performance outcomes and align strategies for practice improvement
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum of 5+ years of clinical dental experience
- Current dental assisting permit (if required by state regulations)
- Ability to travel long distances within the designated region
- Strong knowledge of clinical support with a proven track record in training and developing clinical teams
- Ability to balance clinical and administrative responsibilities in a hybrid role
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Proficiency in Open Dental, iTero systems, digital imaging software, and Microsoft office programs
- Ability to adapt to different clinical environments and collaborate effectively with diverse teams
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and push up to 100 pounds frequently (on wheels)
- Capability to stand or walk for extended periods without fatigue
- Adequate hearing to perform auscultation of blood pressure and other auditory tasks
- Sufficient vision to read X-rays and perform detailed work
- Ability to reach above shoulder level and perform physical tasks such as bending, squatting, sitting, standing, stooping, crouching, reaching, kneeling and twisting.
- High manual dexterity and tactile sensitivity in fingertips for precise dental work
