Clinical Support Consultant
Location: Central West | Employment Type: Full-time
About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Clinical Support Consultant to provide expert clinical leadership and support across Residential Aged Care and Home Care services within a defined geographic region.
Reporting into the Seniors Living group, this role plays a pivotal part in strengthening clinical governance, uplifting practice quality, and supporting services to meet the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, whilst delivering person-centred, evidence-based care.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Practice & Quality
- Provide expert clinical advice and guidance to service leadership and teams.
- Support services to understand, interpret and implement the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards.
- Evaluate clinical practices and identify opportunities for improvement, including delivery of targeted on-site education and training.
- Review and support delivery of individualised nursing care in line with legislation, standards and best practice.
- Provide specialist expertise in gerontic nursing and contemporary aged care practice.
- Support the onboarding and development of Service Managers and clinical staff.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to achieve organisational strategies and deliver high-quality services.
- Contribute to a positive workplace culture aligned with Churches of Christ’s mission and values.
- Support service integration and promote seamless, client-focused care.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with legislative, accreditation and reporting requirements.
- Support financial accountability within areas of responsibility.
- Promote a culture of zero harm, safety, quality and continuous improvement.
- Assist with maintaining the organisation’s quality management system, ensuring currency and compliance.
About You
Essential Qualifications & Knowledge
- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration.
- Current Australian driver’s licence.
- National Police Certificate (or ability to obtain).
- Strong knowledge of contemporary nursing models and their application in aged care.
Desirable Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification in Gerontology, Dementia or aged care-related specialisation.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
- Current CPR certificate.
- Training in Infection Prevention and Control.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in aged care with senior clinical responsibilities.
- At least 3 years’ experience in a leadership or clinical leadership role.
- Experience delivering education and training to clinical teams (desirable).
- Experience implementing new programs or initiatives (desirable).
