Make a Difference
- The Clinical Support Assistant initiates, assembles and maintains charts for patients. Records specified patient data in chart daily
- Performs miscellaneous clerical duties, such as; answering phones or call lights; relaying information/messages; placing additional forms in charts; scheduling appointments, tests/procedures; and entering patient charges into computers
- Communicates with other departments, patients, and medical staff
- Frequently communicates with other departments to relay information, clarify information, and obtain supplies, request repairs
Exceptional Skills and Qualifications
· Three (3) to six (6) months of previous clerical/receptionist experience. Previous department specific experience helpful. Knowledge of medical terminology may be required for some areas.
- Ability to use a computer for documentation and work related purposes
- Strong written, verbal and nonverbal interpersonal and professional communication skills are required.
- Demonstrates accountability for own actions
- Provides service in a willing and courteous manner
- Demonstrates ability to prioritize, organize and multi-task.
- Able to take direction well, but also be self-directed and motivated.
- Requires a high degree of responsibility and responsiveness.
- Deal effectively with patients, visitors, situations, and other Care Team members, while maintaining emotional control
- Technical ability to operate a variety of office machines
- Ability to work well under pressure & organize work to meet deadlines
- Must be able to do multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to take the initiative in work areas and work cooperatively with peers
- Visual acuity to perform typing/computer entry
- Strong computer hardware and software knowledge, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Access, and MS Outlook
- Strong analytical ability
- Strong interpersonal skills & customer service orientation
- Ability to work overtime if needed
