The Opportunity

Our interventional cardiology and emergency medicine portfolio is growing – and with it the need for first-class clinical education. Across the DACH region, many thousands of TAVI procedures, PFO closures, ECMO cannulations and emergency interventions are performed every year. To competently support these procedures with our products and to make them safer for patients, both our customers and our own sales team require excellent clinical expertise.

As Clinical Specialist, you are not primarily a salesperson but a clinical expert and educator. You train physicians and clinical staff at hospitals, provide hands-on case support in catheterization labs and operating theatres, and ensure our sales team stays current on clinical evidence and application techniques.

Whether you come from the cardiac catheterization lab, work as a clinical perfusionist or cardiac technologist, or bring experience from intensive care or surgical nursing – if you are passionate about sharing clinical knowledge and want to bridge the gap between medicine and industry, this role is made for you.

Product Portfolio

  • TAVI Accessories: Balloon catheters and specialized guidewires for transcatheter aortic valve implantation
  • Structural Heart Disease: Occluder systems for interventional closure of congenital cardiac defects
  • ECMO / MICS: Innovative cannulation solutions for extracorporeal membrane oxygenation and minimally invasive cardiac surgery
  • Emergency Medicine: Catheter-based intervention systems for trauma resuscitation in the emergency department
  • Pipeline: The portfolio is continuously expanded with innovative medical devices in high-growth indication fields

Target Audiences

External: Interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, anaesthesiologists, ECMO coordinators, intensivists, emergency physicians, cath lab and theatre nursing staff at university hospitals and maximum-care providers across Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Internal: The DACH sales team and adjacent functions such as marketing and product management.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver product training and clinical in-service sessions for physicians, nurses and technicians at hospitals across the DACH region.
  • Provide hands-on case support in the cardiac catheterisation lab, hybrid operating theatre and intensive care unit – from preparation through implantation to post-procedural care.
  • Build and deliver a structured internal training programme for the sales team covering product knowledge, clinical application, complication management and competitive clinical arguments.
  • Create and maintain training materials: handbooks, quick-reference guides (IFU summaries), case-based learning modules and presentations.
  • Provide clinical advisory to the sales team on complex accounts – particularly for first implantations, product evaluations and review committees.
  • Build and maintain KOL (Key Opinion Leader) relationships within relevant medical societies to disseminate clinical evidence and develop reference users.
  • Support the preparation and execution of user workshops, symposia and wet labs at national and international congresses (DGK, DGTHG, DGU, DIVI).
  • Systematically capture and relay clinical feedback from the field to product management and R&D.
  • Support hospitals with reimbursement matters (DRG, ZE, NUB) in close collaboration with the sales team.
  • Contribute to the clinical positioning of new products as part of market launches.

Your Profile

  • Completed vocational training or degree in a clinical discipline: clinical perfusion, cardiac technology, intensive care / anesthesia nursing, surgical nursing, cath lab nursing, paramedicine, biomedical engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years’ hands-on experience in one of the above clinical fields – ideally with direct exposure to interventional cardiology, ECMO or emergency medicine.
  • Strong didactic skills and a genuine passion for teaching: you can explain complex clinical concepts clearly and convincingly – both to physicians and to non-clinical colleagues in the sales team.
  • Confident and composed in the clinical environment: you are accustomed to working under pressure in catheterization labs or operating theatres and bring the calm professionalism needed to support even critical situations.
  • Prior experience in the medical device industry (Clinical Specialist, Application Specialist, Field Clinical Engineer) is a plus – but not a prerequisite. We will invest in your development.
  • Self-starter with strong organisational skills and willingness to travel up to >60% of your time across customers and team locations.
