Job Title: Clinical Operations Manager
Employment Status: Full-Time
Job Summary:
The Clinical Operations Manager is responsible for directing the daily activities of the Innovative ECMO Concepts, Inc. Travel Team to ensure compliance with customer account requirements. Clinical Operations Managers oversee a team of full-time and PRN travel ECMO Specialists/Preceptors throughout the United States. The manager will be responsible for supporting IEC Travel Team members with clinical and procedural issues, monitoring team performance, identifying training and development opportunities. This position will report directly to executive leadership of IEC or designee.

· Certifications:
Meet and maintain all requirements and duties described in the ECLS Specialist III job description and is credentialed/in good standing at all applicable active accounts.
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Advanced Primer required
ECLS Educator required
Transport Specialist preferred
4+ years as a full time ECMO Specialist with progressive responsibilities and related experience.
Possesses and be currently recognized as a Certified ECMO Specialist – Adult (CES-A) by the American Society of ExtraCorporeal Technology (AmSECT).
Obtains other certifications and credentials as requested.
· Physical:
Must be able to effectively communicate and perform in stressful situations.
Must be able to see, hear, stand, walk, stoop, bend, squat, for prolonged periods without accommodations.
Must be able to read, speak, and write English.
Must be able to independently lift 30Kg.
Must be able to move or reposition patients of any weight or size with assistance.
Must be able to work independently for extended periods without leaving the patient care area.
Job Duties:
Clinical
ECLS Staffing:
o When requested, functions in the role of ECMO Specialist/Preceptor, Advanced ECLS Primer, and ECLS Coordinator.
o While functioning in these roles, follows policies and procedures of the specific institution.
· Transport Specialist:
o Serves as lead or secondary ECMO transport specialist. Must be a competent primer (including blood priming) to function in lead transport role.
Administrative
Employee Support:
o Acts as primary point of contact for IEC Travel Team members regarding IEC policy and protocol, extracorporeal technology and treatments, transport best practices and account-specific requirements.
o In collaboration with other clinical support staff, provides 24-hour phone coverage/technical support for deployed IEC Travel Team members.
Employee Time and Attendance:
o Works with the Logistics and Recruiting Coordinator to schedule training, and orientation of Travel Team members.
Onboarding:
o Engages with the Administrative Team to ensure positive onboarding experience for new Travel Team staff.
o Screens applications/qualifications of potential new hires.
o Conducts interviews with ECMO Coordinators and/or other designees where applicable.
o Determines licensure requirements for new and existing Travel Team members based upon current and future clinical needs.
o Collaborates with Credentialing to maintain an adequate pool of specialists at each customer account.
o Develops a new hire orientation plan in collaboration with the Administrative Team, ECLS Educators, and ECMO preceptors.
Training and Performance Management:
o Monitors the Learning Management System for completion of employee education.
o Identifies areas for performance improvement and provides guidance, coaching, and corrective action to Travel Team members as necessary while supporting a “One Team” mentality.
o Conducts competency/advancement and performance evaluations for Travel Team members on an ongoing basis.
o In collaboration with ECMO Coordinators and ECLS Educators, provides on-going clinical education and training to all team members.
