This position requires a medical doctor degree from an accredited college/university, completion of a ACGME approved residency and fellowship program, board certification in Internal Medicine or Board Eligible. All candidates must be eligible for an unrestricted medical license in the State of Tennessee.Β Academic Rank and Tenure status will be determined based on education and experience.Β
Job Duties:
- Clinical responsibilities will include General Medicine Clinic coverage at Nashville General Hospital.
- Maintain an outpatient Internal Medicine Clinic where responsibilities would include seeing outpatients at Nashville General Hospital and at outpatient clinics run by Meharry Medical College.
- Teaching responsibilities will include formal and informal teaching activities for medical residents and medical students and facilitating and/ or participating in conferences.
- Service responsibilities will include serving in medical school and/or hospital committees as determined by the Department Chair and Chief of Medicine for the Department of Internal Medicine.
Required Skills
Minimum Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine degree with a license to practice in Tennessee required.
- Successful completion of an ACGME approved Internal Medicine training program required.
- Current ABIM certification in Internal Medicine is required if more than 3 years from completion of Internal Medicine residency training.
- Three or more years of experience in teaching medical students / residents preferred.
