Job Summary:     

The Clinical Educator has a high level of expertise in the medical profession, is responsible for creating educational programs and educates staff to meet the institutions and regulatory competency requirements. Will monitor and maintain records. Manage the onboarding process for new staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Onboarding and orienting clinical staff
  • Provide training and continued education
  • Update policies and procedures
  • Work with the CNO to develop and meet strategic organizational goals
  • Resolve conflicting resource information
  • Address and works with unique learning styles
  • Work with different types of search engines if applicable
  • Super user of EMR used with staff
  • Work with diverse populations and positions
  • Work with equipment management and education for staff competency
  • Must be flexible to meet varied shifts
  • Educate with Evidence-based skills and procedures
  • Ongoing updates to stay current with state, federal and Artesia General Hospital changes
  • Assist with monitoring of success for staff, generate reports to measure success
  • Point of care education and competency
  • All other duties assigned
  • Works cooperatively with Leadership to meet expectations of department specific education
  • Supports the philosophy of Artesia General Hospital, have a positive and supportive attitude with all employees.
  • Will educate to AIDET and rounding for all staff

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITIES:

  • Strong communication and able to educate to varied levels of education
  • Strong computer skills
  • Understanding of EMR system with good learning skills

 

AGE-RELATED AND CULTRAL COMPETENCIES: Demonstrates the basic knowledge and skills necessary to identify age-specific patient needs appropriate for this position.

 

Information Management: Treats all information and data within the scope of the position with appropriate confidentiality and security.

 

Risk Management/Quality Management/Safety: Cooperates fully in all Risk Management, Quality Management, and Safety Activities and Investigations.

 



Qualifications

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:    

  • Education – RN, BSN, MSN preferred.
  • Work Experience – Successful history of clinical education, ACLS, BLS, PALS instructor preferred
  • Training – Comfortable with EMR systems and evidence based practice
  • License/Certification – RN in the state of New Mexico, ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC preferred

 

ENVIROMENTAL CONDITIONS: Work environment may consist of patient contact, which may include exposure to blood, or other body fluids.
