POSITION SUMMARY
The Clinical Education Specialist is a vital member of the Clinical Education Department, supporting the development and delivery of educational programs to enhance the skills, knowledge, and professional growth of nursing staff and students. Working under the direction of the Director of Education, this position plays a key role in executing education initiatives including RN student support through Grants 1803 and 1804, the New Graduate RN Program, and ongoing clinical staff development. The role requires flexibility, travel for offsite teaching assignments, and the ability to effectively engage diverse learners across various settings.

COREΒ FUNCTIONS
1. Collaborate with the Director of Education, Clinical Educator, and Clinical Administrator to plan, coordinate, and deliver clinical education programs, in-services, and training activities for staff.

2. Assist in the coordination and tracking of student nurse progress under Grants 1803 and 1804, including report preparation and compliance with grant objectives.

3. Support the New Graduate RN Program by participating in orientation, preceptorship, and continued clinical education.

4. Provide instruction both onsite and offsite, to meet the educational needs of staff and student nurses.

5. Maintain accurate records of training activities, including attendance logs, evaluations, and competency checklists.

6. Mentor and guide new nurses, student nurses, and preceptors, fostering a culture of growth and support.

7. Participate in the evaluation of staff competencies and assist in quality and performance improvement initiatives.

8. Assist in the development of educational materials, skills labs, and digital content such as e-learning modules.

9. Ensure compliance with accreditation standards, grant requirements, and regulatory bodies related to clinical education.

10 Willing to obtain advanced certifications as required to meet evolving educational and clinical demands.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENT FACTORS
Able to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently.
Possess physical agility and adequate reaction time to respond quickly and appropriately to department needs.
Needs adequate hearing and visual acuity, including adequate color vision.
Requires fine motor skills, adequate eye-hand coordination, and ability to grasp and handle objects.
May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must use standard precautions due to threat of exposure to blood and bodily fluids.
Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone.
May require periodic use of personal computer.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required, Must posses a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Arizona.Β 

Minimum of two years of RN experience in an acute care hospital.

BLS, ACLS and PALS required.

Must be proficient with time management and organizational skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for engaging with diverse learners and staff. The role requires excellent organizational and time management abilities, along with the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively. Flexibility and a willingness to travel offsite for teaching assignments are also important for success in this position.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

This is a grant funded position with the possibility to transition into a full time role within the department.
