Provides clinical expertise, orientation, training and education for staff in specialty area. Demonstrates ability to utilize the educational process to assess, prioritize, plan, develop, implement, and evaluate educational activities to assist staff to attain/maintain the knowledge and skill necessary to achieve competence in role expectations and improve the quality of patient care. Functions as clinical practitioner and serves as a role model for clinical practice behaviors. Serves as an educational resource for staff and for patient/family educational needs. Assists in the planning and implementation of continuing education programs as applicable. Note: Ages of population served is determined by Education Specialist's unit of responsibility.

Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.Master's degree required.Minimum of three years nursing practice in area of specialty.Two or more years of experience as an Educator.
