SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The Clinical Education Coordinator (CEC) Heart Failure (HF) & Electrophysiology (EP) is responsible for the design, implementation, and evaluation of clinical education programs across both service lines, ensuring effective onboarding, ongoing competency validation, and adherence to clinical policies. This role supports high-quality patient care and regulatory compliance within a complex cardiovascular environment and serves as a subject matter expert in clinical education, protocols, and policies, aligning evidence-based practice with staff development initiatives to promote consistency, safety, and continuous improvement. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 Specific duties include, but are not limited to: 

  • Coordinate onboarding for all new hires (RNs, MAs, techs, administrative staff) in HF and EP services.  

  • Develop individualized competency plans and verify completion of procedural and clinical competencies.  

  • Develop and implement clinical education programs, including simulation, workshops, and e-learning modules.  

  • Provide initial, annual, and ongoing refresher training to maintain staff certification and proficiency.  

  • Monitor and evaluate educational effectiveness through post-training assessments and performance metrics.  

  • Collaborate with clinical leadership to develop, evaluate, revise, and implement departmental policies, protocols and staff resources.  

  • Ensure policies reflect current evidence-based practice, CMS mandates, and specialty guidelines.  

  • Monitor adherence to quality metrics, including HF & EP procedure outcomes and benchmarks.  

  • Identify education gaps linked to quality and safety outcomes, performance gaps, and propose interventions.  

  • Partner with leadership, providers, and staff to coordinate training initiatives.  

PAY RANGE: $43-$53/hr to start (dependent upon experience)

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) or allied health; master's preferred. 

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years clinical nursing experience in cardiology or interventional procedures preferred. 

  • Certificate/License: Current Alaska State licensure for RN is required. Current CPR certification required. NPD Specialist (NPD-BC), NPD Practitioner (NPD-P), Certified Clinical Educator (CCE) or equivalent preferred.
